When I asked what does a "checkup" consist of the staff on the telephone did not know and could not answer my questions. She then transferred me to a second staff member who preceded to lecture me on the definition of what a RN, provider, medical assistant and a physicians assistant was as I was told any one of these would do my "checkup"
Maybe Dr. Moyer is a nice person, I guess I will never know. What I can tell you though, is that when it comes to one's health I take this issue very seriously and feel Dr's and their staff should make every effort to answer any and all questions, not treat you as if you are ignorant and you are wasting their time.
Patient beware!
I have been going to Dr Mary Moyer (and also saw Melissa Richey,. FNP-C) for about 3 years now. After no results from 2 other doctors and I moved from Prescott to Prescott Valley anyways, thought it was time for a change of doctors too. I am very lucky I made that change of Doctors as I am diagnosed with and being treated for a couple of very serious conditions. Not only are they both thorough and knowledgeable, they are not afraid to do testing and refer to specialists. The wait time is a lot less than I have experienced over my life at Doctor's offices and everyone has been very kind (experienced only 1 person on 1 day a bit short but as a business person, I know we can't all be on our best 100% of the time, the next time the same person was kind and perky. ) I am grateful very grateful to this office as my health is steadily improving thanks to them.
Note to the person who complained about being screened to become a patient. I was shocked the first time I experienced that, now, after 3 doctors did the same thing, I know it's entirely commonplace. You can research the whys on the internet but the 3 of 3 doctors I had used a screening process before accepting me as a new patient.
I listened patiently and again asked what exactly is a "checkup" and specifically who will be doing this "checkup". I guess a potential new customer is not allowed to ask questions at this office as the person on the telephone not only did not answer my basic questions, but acted flustered as if I was wasting her time and rudely said "I guess this Dr's office is not for you" She then hung the telephone up on me while I was in mid sentence.
Friendly staff front office and back. Got me in for an appt. quickly. Wait times were low and doctor was personable, thorough, and professional.
I agree with other reviews that the front office is not very warming or friendly. But the back office is wonderful. I have seen Rhonda and LOVED her. The nursing staff was very friendly and helpful. They are a busy practice but still got me in on time with little to no wait.
Got me in when my doctor was not available, always take great care of me.
Rude staff as others have stated.
Not exactly sure of Dr. Moyer personally as I never got past the rude staff on the telephone. I asked to make an appointment with Dr Moyer for my yearly physical as I am new to the Prescott area. Over one week from my original request a staff member of the office called to say that I would have to come in and see a RN for a "checkup" before the Dr. would decide wether or not to see me.
